Founded in the year 1979 with just six beds, Lakshmi Hospital, today a Multi-specialty Tertiary-level Hospital with a total bed strength of 1450, has carved a distinct place for itself, setting standards in providing quality healthcare across the strata of society.
Major specialties include Cardiology – Interventional & Surgical, Oncology, Pediatrics & Neonatology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology (including Genetic New Born Screening), Orthopedics (including joint replacement surgeries), Urology, Neurology, Infertility and High Risk Pregnancies.
Lakshmi Hospital complies with clinical protocols integrating best practices from NICE (NHS of UK), Australian and Indian standards. The Hospital is planning to associate with eminent surgeons from abroad to perform complex surgeries.
Lakshmi Hospital has also been providing social/charitable services to the lesser privileged people. Some of the notable services include:
- Providing free dialysis for many patients in association with Satya Sai Trust, for the last 5 years - the first of its kind in the State
- Organizing Medical Camps & Health Checkups regularly, with more focus in the rural and semi urban areas, in association with Police, Schools, Residents Associations, Social Welfare Groups, Religious Institutions etc
- Conducting Health Awareness Programmes such as Patient Education, Radio Programmes, and Preventive Paediatric Dentistry & General Medicine Awareness for Schools etc
- Our Rural Health Center at Mazhuvannoor, Kolenchery, provides quality healthcare facilities at highly subsidized rates to over 32000 villagers
- Conducting Blindness Mission Camps - Mobile Ophthalmic Camps in association with CBM (Christoffel Blindness Mission) - Ambulance with all Ophthalmic instruments
- Reaching out to the indigenous population of Wayanad (from January 2010 onwards) - Conducting Regular Camps for Sickle Cell Disease in Association with Vivekananda Mission Hospital
